About Banking on Bitcoin
On this page
Banking on Bitcoin is an independent education and research site about Bitcoin, written mainly for readers in the United States. Our aim is simple: no hype, no noise, just clear, in-depth education.
What we do
We explain Bitcoin in plain language across five areas: the basics, money and economics, technology, investing and security. The guides are written for smart adults who are new to the subject. We try to put the risks next to the benefits, and we say so when a question has no settled answer.
If you are new, the Start Here learning path is the best place to begin.
What we are not
We are not a broker, an exchange, a wallet provider or a financial adviser. We do not hold anyone’s funds, execute trades or manage money.
We have no token and we sell no products. We do not make price predictions, and we do not tell readers to buy or sell anything. Bitcoin is volatile, and finance topics deserve restraint, so we hold ourselves to a conservative standard on what we claim.
Some pages, mainly comparisons of exchanges, wallets and software, contain affiliate links to third-party providers. They are labeled “ad”, and our editorial standards explain how we keep them separate from what we write.
Who writes the site
Banking on Bitcoin is written by Christopher Cannucciari, whose name appears in the byline of every article. How articles are researched, checked and corrected is described in our editorial standards, which also cover how conflicts of interest and paid placements are handled.
